The picture sucks, I know. Had the flash off for some reason. Sight casting to these things sure is a lot of fun.

I'm a closet carper wanna be! I targeted them in the Passiac river last year but found them to be very spooky and difficult. Couldn't get them interested in anything.
Anybody have any tips on go to Northern NJ patterns? Best time and manner to target carp?
Fred, here's an article by Dave Whitlock on flyfishing for carp.

Thanks for the tip on the article.
They fish for them here in AR with bow and arrow !
We are loaded with them here in the lakes and rivers. OK they are fun on a fly rod, but they are also a invasive species and compete with other indigenous species for the same food base, more or less there is nothing a carp will not eat, fish eggs, small fly and all else.

Davy beleave it or not that actually fish for them the same way here in Jersey on the Delaware. Looks like it might be fun to try once.
