Posting History / Age of Content / Relevance

Have you given any thought about deleting old posts and information? I think some of the main sections may get crowded. I'm sure you have plenty of server space available now, but eventually this may become an issue. Perhaps there is a way to relegate old information to an archive?

I don't know the capabilities of the web-hosting software, but I am sure it keeps track of visits and counts postings. One way to find older content would be to set a threshold (say one view or hit per week) and use that to identify less important material.

Just an idea, I'm not really sure what other forums do. As the site grows, old computers might struggle when loading pages of archived posts and photos.

    Thanks for considering my suggestions.

unfortunately you have to keep all of the old info. if you get rid of it you can not search for it later on. we deleted some posts a while ago in an attempt to clean it up a bit. we had a ton of negative feedback when we deleted posts. maybe there is a way that we can store them.

    No problem, I understand.

Is it possible to add sub-topics under the main geographic areas? For example under CT, we could have "Housatonic River," "Farmington River," and so on. Under PA, you could have "Little Lehigh," "Little J" and so on.

    This might help with navigation.

if we were to that we would have hundreds of pages. maybe we could only shows topics that have only been active in the last week or so? then the older topics could go to an another page
