FYI, here are the Davy Wotton sow bugs:
It is simply amazing how similar these look to your actual photos above! Excellent photography.
Went to Spring Creek with my friend John today. We got a late start which left us with less time to freeze our a--es off. We got to the stream at 11 and took the water temp... it was 42.5 and the air... 20! We had ice on our guides all day and the fishing although not spectacular was consistant all day. We didn't catch a lot but it was worth the trip. We saw a few midges and I saw the most cressbugs that I have ever seen there. They were everywhere as evidenced by the pictures below.
The water was around 70 cfs, slightly discolored and the water temps ranged from 41-45 degress depending on where we fished. All fish were caught on either DW sow bugs or cranefly larvae.
Below are a bunch of stream shots as well as photos of the cress bugs and one of the prettiest little brown trout that I have ever caught.

Damn, that tan DW Sow Bug really is a ringer for the real deal. Nice report, I cannot wait to fish Spring Creek again, it's been a while for me. I think I even recognize some of those spots- some near the area (actually a little below it) where you hooked & lost the breeder Bow?

Thet would be affirmative sir!
Aaron, great pics there.
The DW sows in my picture were tied by Tbird for me.
They are available for sale guys if you want some. They are weighted.
Davy.
I used to think that they "Little Guy" was the best sow bug pattern until I statrted using your fly. Now I have an east 5 dozen in my spring creek fly box. They work well in both small and large sizes, which is rare for a sow bug pattern. usually the larger you make them the less representative they become.
Aaron,
I have seen sows here nearly 1 ins in length. There are many different species of sowbugs, colors and sizes differ depending on habitat.
Davy.
Davy, when you come up to do the clinic for us in April, we are going to get you drunk & get the secret dubbing blends for this pattern.
