I went to fish this afternoon and it is slow...for fly fishing. I fished in three locations and everywhere I went there were lots of guys fishing bait. I caught a couple on the brown trout emerger (yellow egg), but in one spot, four guys came in throwing bait and I could almost sense the fish moving towards them. They were all hooking up pretty good. The trout have mostly moved in to the slower water. A couple of the guys were releasing the fish in the water with forceps which is great, but another guy was badly mishandling an 18in brown, poor thing (as we know, fly fishermen also sometime mishandle their catches!) I can't wait to fish there when the morning temperatures are in the teens.
