Nice going the Browns maybe wild because there are lots of wild brownies in the SBR

Went down to the SbR as promised and fished it from 9 to 11. I was the only one there save for a couple of spin fishermen. The fishing was excellent, though I didn't even sniff a fresh stocked fish. Six trout in those 2 hours; 2 browns and 4 bows. The browns looked wild to me. Huge fins and nice colors. Or maybe they're raising them better these daysThe bows were all big in the 15 inch range except for one that measured 17 and hit my size 20 PT so hard he sent shock waves through my rod! What a morning! Only the threat of spousal violence pryed me from the river.
You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.

i went this afternoon. i didnt get anything big. i got a few rainbows that were around fifteen inches and tons of those darn brook trout. i look at it like brook trout are better than no trout. i even saw a bunch of fish rise today!!! that gets me excited to see some activity. also there are tons of wild browns in there. they electro shocked the gorge last summer and found more than they thought could be in there.
Yeah, now we just have to figure out how to get the wild browns! Stupid brookies and bows keep gobblin up the flies. Should we start swinging streamers? Or just wait for night fishing?
when the h20 temps warm up you will get the wild fish in the heavy pocket water. you will get a lot less fish than you would if you were fishing the pools but they will be nicer wild fish.
like my sucker?
Maybe some of those big weird looking streamers may get you a big holdover brown or wild browns
Mike
yeah I was thinking a big sculpin maybe. perhaps a zonker?
