Seeking pattern for Sulphur not-dun, not spinner

    Hi,
What do you guys like to use for pre-dun Sulphur and/or Light Cahill patterns? The Deerfield has a pretty strong and persistent hatch May to August and I do pretty well with parachutes. I have used a wet pattern with sulphur colored dubbing and cream tail and hackle, but I think this was being taken for cripples or drowned spinners. In the course of looking for a good pattern this morning I came across this site:
    http://www.midcurrent.com/
which had a great excerpt from a book here:
    http://www.midcurrent.com/articles/b...es_review.aspx
And also referenced a bikini story you might like - the one that got away...
    http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/arti...routbikini.txt
    Thanks,
    E]

i have had some success on a larger rs2 pattern in the right color with a wing of crystal flash. i fish this pattern as a nymph. it does really well when you have very turbulent water and the flies are getting washed into the water.

    Hey Aaron,
Thanks for the response - the RS2 looks like an intriguing pattern - this is the first I've encountered it and I am anxious to try it out. I will tie up a few and let you know how I make out later this Spring. Water temp on the Deerfield is still pretty low - 36º yesterday while the air temp was 61! No sign of life...

we were at the farmington today... the fishing was better than yesterday. we saw a few stoneflies and lots of midges, but no bwos.
so you fish the deerfield a lot? i am dying to get up there this spring. i want to get some of those nice fish that slondeep gets. have you been to the housy in mass yet? yeah the rs2 works really well in that situation.

    Hey Aaron,
Thanks for the steer on the RS2 - I tied one this evening and thought for sure I was screwing it up, but it came out alright - I have a splitting headache and am going to go to bed. It took a while to go through the directions, but I'm sure now I could crank out a bunch of them no problem.
Yes, I fish the Deerfield alot and can vouch for the fish Eddie has been telling you about. Come on up and we'll check out some spots - I come down to NJ and PA a couple times a year - maybe you can send me in the right direction on some of your favorite haunts.
The Stone fly is very cool - Eddie did a great job with the pictures - don't tell him I said so - he might get a swelled head..
