    Backyard Visitor

This beautiful creature greeted me today when I returned home from the show. It wasn't easy to get this picture, sorry it isn't better!

Beautiful coyote. They are in abundance almost everywhere, but still manage to be illusive. Thanks for sharing!

Not long ago here a woman's little dog got carried away by one so they have been demonized a bit. I don't care though, I still think there are magnificent animals.

Thanks. We see 'em all the time and many cats in my neighborhood are gone. In the winter, it is easy to find coyote tracks everywhere. What was strange about this one was that it was mid-day, he didn't spook, and gave me time to go in the house and grab the camera! I don't think it was sick, because we've also seen those (with mange). It was as if this animal was looking for something (maybe a mother looking for pup?).

we have the same thing going on here as well. We have one that has taken to bedding down in the leaf pile to get some sun. Say 9 or 10 am.

Little too close for my comfort with little kids that like to play in the backyard.

When I was a teenager hiking around Lake Saltonstall, the coyotes were first making their return appearance. My Dad's friend pointed out some coyote sign, and I was amazed. Now they are commonplace, even in Central Park! You can't help but admire Mother Nature's resiliency.

My next goal is to photograph a bobcat.

Alain, here in Warren county NJ there is a preserve, Merril Creek Resevoir where they have a blind set up for photography. People get shots of bobcats there with relative frequency. Plus, deer, bear and bald eagles.
