    Backyard Brown

Went fishing in my backyard for about 45 minutes with my wife tonight and actually caught something worth mentioning. I know some of you guys read my blog, and probably have seen the pictures of the 9 or 10 inch fish that i've been catching back there.(and the 4 or 5 inch wild brookies!) Well this one was a nice surprise when I pulled him out of the riffles to say the least!

I caught it on a size 22 white tail midge that I tied on a barbless tiemco. I've got to say, I'm really impressed with the holding power of these barbless hooks! Ever since I learned to euro nymph with these lighter flies, my catch rate is really going up.

Those little midges might be the trick in my backyard as well. I've been using small BH pheasant tails with some success. Keep posting pics of those beauties. I am curious, what size tippet are you using?

When I got my fish at the LL a spin guy told me it was the first fish he saw caught all day. I just smiled...
