    Lamington (Black) River

Here's a post I saw about the Black River:

The Black R may be the most heavily stocked river in NJ on a per mile basis.

The Black comes out of a 6 mile long swamp and warms early at the top of the gorge, but fishing holds up until July 4 most years. Seeps and tribs in the gorge cool it down, so by the lower end of Hacklebarney SP it is rated as Trout Production water. It is interesting since it is dark, tannic water (hence the name Black) which looks like something from the North country. The trout turn dark after being in there a while. The old saw used to be to use orange and black flies in the dark water.

Anybody have any more info on this river? Sounds intersting in the gorge section.
