Opening Day fishing

Fished the BFB and the SBR and got 4 fish landed and missed a bunch of other fish
fish sizes 14, 10, 11, 12 inches

What time did you fish? how were the crowds?

I don't understand why opening day always has to be rainy but this year, snow and freezing guides, why not i guess. I waited till the crowds were gone and went to the rockaway in wharton around four o clock. Started off slow but figured out what they wanted had some fun. Right before dark they ( about seven of them) started rising, I could'nt see what for, but I did see a lot of midges and occasional black stoneflies on the river, i think it was the midges. The griffiths gnat always worked there in the early season Gotta start taking pictures.

started fishing at 8 am
