what an amazing video
I want to go up there badly
I know you guys will be packing your bags after watching this one! I actually wish I brought the fly rods with us. We caught EVERY single steelhead on artificial lures. We could have fished with strike indicators and caught as many, if not more!

Awesome video! I think I was the first to see it on Youtube. It is amazing to see such numbers and sizes of steelhead come out of such a narrow (at times) river!
Love the long, long, long drift. . .and then. . .HOOK SET! GOT 'EM!
One thing I missed seeing was the incredible two-man catch, where you and Kevin had to cut the line/leader and then re-attach it after battling the terrain.
Camp Alaska sounds cold!
I've made a promise to myself that I WILL go to the SITUK!

Dave- I just saw that on ESPN2 with Tim Rowland down in florida. They were jigging for black grouper in the mangroves. His partner caught one, it wrapped around a mangrove and he thought he lost it. Rowlnad cut the line and quickly retied it onto another rod and they fought the bruiser grouper in. It was awesome. I'd love to see that in action on steelhead.
That reminds me of a time I saw this guy in Pulaski chase a fish down an ice shelf while falling in almost ever step. After five minutes a rip in his wader and a foot full of ice cold water, his line caught on the edge of the ice shelf. This other guy standing near him started helping him reach out and yank on it to get the snag off the ice but couldn't do it, and just when he was about to break the line the first guy told him to hold on and walked the rod out as far as he could go and 5 minutes after the orig snag it came loose and the fish was still on... five minutes later, landed! Best parts... barbless hook and... it's on video. Aaron, have you seen that video?
That's no BS boys.....
A Redneck's last words, "Hold my beer while I do this...."
that video is no bs for sure
Juice, I remember that romantic story on the SR just a little while ago, that was a great story. Let me also add that the barbless hook you speak of was pretty small. . . I also remember two guys walking dangerously on the ice-shelf, falling through the ice (in which the water was over their heads), while another guy beside them was laughing and trying to get it on camera. . . I think I got a couple of good shots ;D I also remember being elected to walk back out on the ice to fetch the rods. In the words of Aaron, "What's life without a few 'I almost died while steelhead fishing' stories."
Rego, I'd like to see that, could you send me the title?
Getting back to SITUK, awesome video. I'm going, it's as simple as that.
