Since Mr. Harvey passed away, I've made a point to carefully read his book "Techniques of Trout Fishing and Fly Tying." I was also lucky to buy a signed copy, something special to me. The book is short, but loaded with the practical wisdom we all need. It is also the best night-fishing resource I have ever seen.

Here are a couple quotes to illustrate:

George Harvey on hatches:
"Almost every fly fisherman has his own favorite patterns and I firmly believe that confidence in the fly you are using is equally as important as matching the hatch."

George Harvey on fly-fishing experts:
For some unknown reason many writers greatly exaggerate the skills involved in the various techniques and actually give the reader the impression fly fishing is difficult to master and that he must possess a supernatural intelligence and skill to catch fish by this method. This is fallacy!
