Nah Juice, I'm pretty sure he meant a spinner as in Mepps or Rooster Tail- tough to beat fishing those on small wild trout streams.

unless you trot out a big juicy nightcrawler or meal worm.
You know what? I grew up fishing wild trout brooks & streams, and I always caught bigger fish on Mepps spinners than I did on worms.

Huh?! Now C'Mon Torrey, I have never seen a natural Mepps Spinner or Rooster tail inhabiting any trout stream I have ever fished so why in the world would a quality wild trout munch on those gaudy metallic creations?![]()
Really? I always found a bit of worm to do the trick... When I was a youngster, first using flies, my Dad used to put a chunk of worm or a mealy on the hook just to give me a little help so I didn't get discouraged. I don't know if you've ever fished a black bugger with a bit of earthworm on the bend of the hook, but man does that catch some stockers!
Loren-
This is a good population of naturally reproducing Mepps spinners on many CT trout streams. ;D
