I can see everyone has their favorites. This may be a bit old fashioned, but Hare's Mask, for me is great for both nymphs and wets. I must admit the squirrel is nice, but a good Hare's Mask offers a tier some different colored fur, taken from different places on the mask. The dyed masks offer even a greater range of colorations
You said you touch dub, and the squirrel just might give you a little more spiky results. I use the Leisenring method of dubbing a lot, and it works well with the Hare's Mask.
The fly below, is not necessarily a nymph-more like a pupa, but the result with the Hare's Mask was excellent. It is Jim Slattery's Triple Threat Caddis. The fly is a killer.
