A buddy of mine and I hit the Salmon River on Tuesday. Even though it was very crowded in the upper part of the river we hooked alot of fish through out the day. No single pattern seemed to hook more than others as we had success on all types and colors of egg patterns, nymph patterns, and even streamers at dusk. The key was to constantly change patterns as the fish were very interested in something they hadn't seen. ;D We called it the kitchen sink syndrome.
The weather was ultra freaky as it was an constant sequence of drizzle, fog, mist, wind, sun, torrential rain, then repeat. There is still some snowpack up there and even though it got up to around 60 degrees air temp, the water temp was about 36 degrees.
I even witnessed the predator himself up there just gettin busy. I was pretty happy with the number of fish we were hooking but he blew everyone away. Here are a few of the pics from the day:
