Favorite small stream rod?

I was wondering when it comes time to fish those small brooks and little creeks what is your go to rod of choice?

It depends on how small. I have a Sage TXL 1 weight that I use for Brookies. It's a sweet little rod and a blast to fish, but I use it on really small water. If I might have to get a little line out, I use an old Eastbranch GTX 3 weight that is one of my all time favorite rods. It's a cult classic.

i have a march brown hidden water pack rod. its a 7 foot 7 piece 4 weight but the section above the handle can come out to make it a 6 foot rod. its cast's very well despite the fact its a 7 piece rod.

Well I have a JP Ross Beaver Meadow 5' 2 WT that I use for really small streams like the Van Campens but I'm looking for something a little bit longer like 7ft 2 WT although I'd love to try one of the Sage 1 or 0 just to see what it's like.

Txl-f 1wt, it's the real sweetheart of the lineup and can handle surprisingly large fish.

I like my TFO finesse 6'9" 1 wt. I have caught trout up to 18" with it.

What kind of price range are you talking with the Sage and TFO? Also has anyone owned or fished the Rueben Wood from JP Ross? Does anyone fish fiberglass anymore? I know cane rods still have a loyal following but haven't heard of many people fishing fiberglass unless it's nostalgia.

Also with the 0 and 1 weights what are the limitations as far as casting large flys? I know in some of the small streams I fish I still throw large attractor patterns.

I have a 7 ft Fisher Bush rod in 5wt that I bought to fish the Toms River with back when I fished there a lot. I stopped fishing there because between the briars, ticks, and kayakers it was becoming a hassle. I can't tell you how many pairs
of waders and rain jackets that river tore up! The final straw was when I was trying to get into position to cast to a rising fish, wading was out of the question, and in my hast I got hung up badly in some briars. Now picture this I'm stuck can't go forward and can't go backward, my jacket is snagged solidly and my net also, so I tried to undo my jacket first and in the process my net came free and whacked me so hard in the face I saw stars!

Then after I was able to compose myself and make sure I still had both eyeballs I bush whacked my way into the only spot I could get a cast and here comes three yakers fish takes off and they decide to stop and rest right there!

I left thinking well things can't get any worse till I got home and found two ticks on me one on my back and one in my armpit, so I haven't been back in a long time.

My TFO cost $179.00. I can throw a size 12 dry pretty easy. I don't fish drys bigger than that. The Sage goes around $500.00 I think. TFO just came out with a half wt. in the finesse line. I think I need one.
