[Castaline]

I have one in 7wt. For that kind of fishing (Huge in AK) it really does work well. Only really though if you have good spey skills to begin with and I think those spey skill are much more easily learned with a full two hand spey rod. but if you know what you are doing this line will got very well with one handed spey casts with indicators and such this is the line to use. I have on on order in 4 wt- will let you know.

[Castaline]

I got the 4 wt yesterday and took it to the local stream and tried some various spey casts with it with a streamer on. It is a very heavy head concentrated in the first 20 ft of line like most spey lines. Traditional casting was possible but with the impression that the rod was way overlined. Again that is really not he purpose of the line. Once the roll casting started and the spey stuff-- it started to load the rod well and was able to get some nice spey casts off. It is good line if you are into the spey casting and you can get some distance with the one handed line that tradional lines won't provide.

I got the 6 wt line and i really like the way the line shoots. i'll hAVE to use a stripping basket to add more distance than i already get. I fish in places where it is not always possible to back cast. I used a 8' 6" rod and had no problem the few times i did back cast. but i got the line to spey cast and it does that with a single - handed rod well.
