Learned a few things on the LJ

About a month ago I went out to the little J and didn't have two much success. So i left about halfway through the day and went back up to spring creek and caught a few more fish. It was an OK day but i felt like i gave up to easy at the little j. Saturday I made another trip outto the little j, with a much different result.

I showed up at about 8 and it was 25 degree. i was not planning on a good day. fished untill 11 and was bummed out cause i had no fish yet. so i sat down ate lunch and decided to keep walkin and keep workin to get some fish. I ended up with about 15 to 20 fish, some nice browns and two football size rainbows. I went back sunday and had 10 more in about 3 hours

    So what did i learn.
    1. dont underestimate the power of a PT nymph
    2. if your not catchin keep fishin and keep changin flies. if your intensity and focus stay up your gonna get on some fish
    3. keep fishing, the fish might not be actively feeding at the time but maybe an hour from then they will be.
    4. most importantly, i learned that walking far.....PAYS OFF!

just thought id share a report and a story, I would post some pics but i cant figure out how. I will if someone lets me know how to do it.

Good "intense" outing! I like it how you sort of wimped out on day one, went home, got fired up and went back. It really pays off to keep at things and not let a rough, or less than desirable outing keep you down for long.

I always find it amazing that guys will drive for hours and won't walk 10-15min when they get there.
