    Already reaping benefits...

I'm new to the forum as of this week, but have already reaped the rewards provided by this online fishing community.

I ordered Jack and Vladi's video on European Nymphing. Not only did Jack send me that DVD, but he threw in 4 freebies to boot. Good stuff.

I hope to put a bit of what I've learned into practice this weekend against fellow board members PCole, supaflygsr, and Josh Stephens from Team USA. The last few mini-comps we've had on the Nantahala have been tough.

At any rate, looking forward to contributing to the group and hope to hit some water with those of you in the area.

Although I am a Pitt fan I still want to welcome you to the site.

Welcome WVYOU ... from a fellow Mountaineer!

Only in the fly fishing world could a WVU and Pitt fan get along! I appreciate the welcome.

JI...good to see a fellow Mountaineer! Do you get back home often to fish?

I'm in SC, but head home at least twice per year to fish.

Welcome to the site. How is Elk River in WV? I have read that they use some tiny flies there. There must also be some killer brookie streams there.

Thanks Aaron! You have a great resource here.

The Elk is a phenomenal river, and the fish there do give it up for small flies. Although I'm not a member yet, I'm told they have a 30/20/10 club.

That's short for 20 plus inch trout on a size 30 or smaller fly using 10x tippet.

That being said, big and nasty can also produce well. One of the other forums where I hang out had some monster bows and browns posted just this week...most on streamers.

If you ever get down to NC, shoot me a PM. I fish with the guys on the NC Team as well as a few other forum members here. We'd be glad to put you on some trout.
