    Late winter stoneflies

    Went to the Housatonic over the weekend, and caught zippo, but these guys were out in force:





    the water looked great, but that was about it!

    Nice pics. There were a ton of stoneflies out and about down here in Jersey this weekend to. Even had a bunch in my truck the next day I guess they clung to my pack. I don't know about you guys but I could have dealt with more winter and no crowds of people.

    I had dead stoneflies down the back of my shirt and in my waders. They were everywhere.
    You're right though Nick, i'll take open water over good weather any day. LOL.

    Agreed. Although, this weekend might just be cold enough to keep the crowds down.
    The stoneflies were out in force on the KLG too.

    I hope so temps in mid 30's to low 40's seem to be best, no people and no ice on the guides.

    I used the White tailed midge size 16 tied with black thread during the Stone fly hatch at my Rod and Gun club and landed a ton of fish
