    I agree 100% the drag on both reels is outstanding (I'm basing the drag on the guru by all the other reels lamson has produced) but I think if I do get a new reel it'll be the guru because of the price.

    The Guru has a great price, very modern look, and shares the same drag as the top of the line Lamson/Waterworks models priced in the $300-450 range. Total performance bargain, its machined, and has a large arbor. The Ross would be a close second choice though.
