[Nymphmeister]

Got a late start today, but I made it out and that's what counts! Lots of elbow room for Nymphmeister today, it was cool & windy. Felt colder than the actual air temps, which were about 45 degrees or so. Water temp dropped to about 47-48 degrees, it was 52-53 on Sunday.

The first spot looked good, but it was a swing and a miss, with no trout caught or even hooked, even though I had it all to myself. Hmmm. Spot #2 was MONEY, with 6 trout hooked and several landed. Everything I brought to hand was on the "Brown Trout Emerger" fly, Lol. Hooked some on small Mayfly nymphs too, one trout liked it so much he took it home with him after the strike. Fish ranged from 15-17+", except for one dinker of about 4" or so. The last pool was a bust, I got there just before dark and didn't even get a hit, despite the fact that it is loaded with trout. Wish I started earlier today. Lost quite a few flies today, it's back to the tying bench to restock.

All in all, a very pleasant day, albeit a cool one. Good thing I layered up in fleece & thermals, the wind chill made it much cooler. Thanks to the trout for warming me up. And thanks to all the other angler for staying home.

you should have gotten you a$$ out of bed earlier and ventured across the Hudson River! We could have covered more ground today and maybe one of us would have caught a monster brown!
