A good choice is Korkers just because of the versatility of them and the interchangable sole. However you couldn't convince me to buy anything other than the simms rivertek boot right now, I love my pair! it is the vibram sole, however with a few cleats you will have traction even in the slipperiest conditions. Even without the cleats I have never fealt like I was going to fall or lose traction yet. The walls of the boot are also built a little more sturdy than the Korker chrome series. The Boa lacing system is killer and very reliable. But if you absolutely have to have felt then I would go with the Korker Chromes they have a lot of similar traits the Simms Riverteks have.

I recently bought a pair of the Korker Chrome boots. I was nervous about the lacing system . It took a while for me adapt to the Boa lacing system but once I did I like it very much. The boots are lighter than the Simms G3 boot but the Simms boot keeps my feet warmer in the winter . I don't know why. I wore out the felt soles on my Simms boot in one year ( about 153 days of fishing). When I wear out the soles on the Korkers I will replace them for $30.00 for a new pair of studded felt soles . That is a lot cheaper than 180.00 for a new pair of wading boots. I have the studded felt soles which seem to perform very well. The question for me is will these boots stand the test of time in the water.

Any tips for ordering a pair of chromes as far as sizing compared to normal shoe size, I assume I just go one size bigger!

Thats not always the case, My pair is the same size as my shoe (size 13) and it fits perfect.

i have a pair of the Korkers Metalheads at home that are size 11. i wear an 11 and the were short for me. if you wear a 10 they would be perfect. i have all of the soles with them ( plain rubber, studded rubber, felt, and plain studded for icy conditions)and they are in excellent condition. i only wore them one season.

i never had any problem at all with them except for being too small! i wore the studded rubber soles only. winter, spring, summer, and fall... no worries, and the boa lacing system is awesome!

I wear a 12.5 shoe (fun finding those) and rock a 14 in the korkers. Gives me room to wiggle my toes around as the water temp drops which is nice.
