    Flatbrook revived

The mornings and evenings on the Big have been great fishing with many rising trout. There are still plenty of stocked brookies, which kind of surprised me. The recent thunderstorms we've had have given the river a much needed shot of water. Get on up there and try out some of the prettiest water in NJ before we get too low again. Small beetles and ants are great right now and tiny olives in the morning. Also the BFB is fine water for putting on a bushy, bigger dry and fishing the swifter water.

besides the wanaque the flat brook has the coldest water in the state. if there were sections of the stream where you were not allowed to kill everything you could have some great "year round" trout fishing! oscar, i know your tu chapter is very active in that area. have they ever questioned the state as to why there is no c and r sections on the stream.

Not to my knowledge, but C&R would be a tough sell anywhere in NJ. They love to manage a put and take fishery. I will look into it though.
