What a Difference a Day Makes!

Yesterday was hell... literally and today was one of the nicest days in a long time, go figure!

I took the girlfriend to work and had 8 hours to kill so what better way to spend my day than fishing. The limestone creeks are all on the low side. So the fishing is for lethargic fish in low water conditions... well that is, until the baetis get going. The fishing was tough for about an hour. It was windy and cold to start to morning off. The wind died down after about an hour of getting there and it was a "hot" 44 degrees out. I am saying hot because it was warm and sunny as compared to the blizzard yesterday. I am enjoying fishing the short rod and the cool looking Vexis tie die reel! I will say that the fishing got crazy with the bug activity and did not stop when I left to pick her up. Changing the set ups to match the water conditions is whats making for some very high catch rates. You have to mix it up to catch 'em up Casting has been a welcome change from the Euro Nymphing rig and has accounted for much higher catch rates too.
