    Classic & Custom is closing

    It looks like Dave is going to retire and close the shop. He will be greatly missed by all.

    Dave is a frist class guy, many weekends I traveled from CT to his early shop in Hadley, MA (I believe that was the town).

    He also had a great mail order catalog for many years, C&C offered many special materials for the Salmon tying FF.

    Dave was one of my best friends and if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be half the fisherman I am now. I can't speak highly enough of his knowledge and love for fly fishing. He's a geat guy and I hope that I still see him in the future.

    Dave is an excellent & innovative fly tyer, and I don't think he has ever received his full due credit. He was the first person in CT that I saw use either CDC or Rabbit's foot. The man is a fountain of knowledge about the Farmington, fly tying, hatches, fly design, and many other fishing related topics. I wish his the best in his retirement, he deserves it.

    I think he's done so much trout fishing & talked about it constantly in the shop, getting pestered with the same questions, over & over, that it's all a bit ho-hum to him. But Atlantic Salmon, ask him about that and he gets a little excited.

    very true torrey, but a little excited is an understatement. Just mention New Brunswick and the Maramashee ;D he'll talk for hours.
