New Rod! Line Suggestions???

I just bought an 11' 3wt to start my euro nymphing training.

Anyone have any line suggestions?

I think I am going to overline it with 4wt or 5wt line.

Wrong move?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Overlining the rod is a big mistake as you most likely will not be using the fly line at all. I just got a 10 foot 3 weight and I put level line on the reel. With the long leader set up that you would use with that rod fly line would not be of much importance. Rio selective trout would be fine.

Justin, where did you find an 11' #3 rod? And what make is it?

Loop Opti Peak. Opti is their high end line, but they discontinued the PEAK. The rep told me that they weren't selling that great in the US and they are trying to gain market here. I got a killer deal on it though.

You didn't answer my question. Any ideas?

I agree with Aaron, put a #3 on it, a Rio Selective Trout or maybe a Sci Angler Trout.
