I've been at this way too long.

How the fuck do you tie that french bastard on? and not the two coilies with the tag ends, those you can blood knot or davy leader knot. i mean the middle section of a pen full of coilies.

Don't get frustrated with it. Better you figure it now than try to on the stream. I'll email you some pictures or a quick video clip later.

thanks tim. yea, i definitely wanted to practice at home to eliminate that stream side frustration. I tied it onto my leader with a davy leader knot, but tying it onto the tippet is even harder. anytime i try the davy knot with the tippet portion it doesn't seat right.

I blood knot a 6 inch piece of red Amnesia to both ends of the coil so on stream its easier to tie on.

How about a uni-knot. I make every connection with this knot. Speedy nail knot = uni knot...all the way down to the tippet connection with the fly.

Use the same Davy Knot as you saw on the DVD. It works!

Tim is right. It takes a few times and you will get it. Sometimes when I'm in the middlle of the sighter pen I try to straighten out a couple inches of mono at the end to make it easier to work with. Then you wont have to fight with the coil as much.
