Aaron, I was just going through my "stuff" and I came upon a pair of 20ft + leaders complete with sighter et al. I am currently using an 11ft. TFO with Rio-nymph line 5 wt. I remember last year that I was unable to lift this leader out of the water no less cast with it. This followed your instructions you sent out a couple of years ago. This is like the guy who goes to the MD and says...."doctor, it hurts when I breathe, skin dive, water ski or ice skate.....doctor what should I do????".....Should I tie leaders according to your formula for short lines (from DVD)---? . Doctor what should I do? I still have to find a date to fish with you and fit it in between selling my house and finding new digs in PA. as ever "Doc"

Cutt the butt section back. How long is the butt section? Is it 20 feet?? Make it half. Or whatever it is make it half and try it out. It should work better since you will have to use fly line and this will help your casting. Give it a go. You can even try it in a parking lot. See how it works and report back.
