Sick trip Doober. That is a nice chromer Danny got. Glad you guys caught 'em. I saw the DSR reports mentioning a push of steel. Looks like they were right on. Any of those big browns?
Spent the last 5 days up on the Salmon River for the yearly trip. The water was pretty high to start but we were able to find fish and fought fish pretty much the entire time. Once the water came down we got on the river and it was a bonanza! We had a blast and can't wait to get back up there next month for steelhead!
Here's some porn for ya
And some early chrome
And my buddy Danny's first steelie...that's why his smile is so ridiculous!

Where's my eggs???
Did well on Tues when I was up. I trout fished and landed a few Steelies and a fat 8lb Brown. Hooked more Salmon than anything but the battle does'nt last long in 2000 cfs with 6lb tippit...lol My 2 freinds spin fished for Salmon and did really well.
On another note. After I got tired of watching my buddies landing Salmon I bumped up to 12lb tippit and was still hooking Steelies. I then tied on straight 10lb mono tippit for S&G's and the fishing was the same. Who says if your not getting bit you need to drop your tippit size???
10mm Beads in Fl. Orange, Peach, Blue Glow and Sun Orange produced as they always do.
We hooked one female with eggs in it and took it to the place in town that keeps all eggs...we are kind of idiots. Lots of males landed. I missed two more steelhead at least...maybe more. It was a great weekend for sure. Well have to set up a steelie trip soon!

Ha Ha......
Yea I'm done with Salmon. Tired of breaking stuff and everyone's freezer is full. Well.......... You could probably twist my arm to do it one more time this year.
You wouldnt believe the number of steelhead that were being pulled out of that river! it was out of control. Almost every stinger had one on it. I wonder if there are so many this year because the douglaston is now C&R on all trout species....That could be it. We pulled three steelies from the same (undisclosed) spot and watched three other come out of the same spot and be drug up to the lot...what a shame

Indeed!!
Good to hear. After what I saw a couple weeks back I am surprized there is anything left in the river.
Heading up next weekend. Thanks for the info and nice pic's.
