    Gatlingburg, Tennessee

    Hello Guys,

my trip to USA is approaching. I know now that we will spend a few days in Gatlingburg, Tennessee.
I heard this is a good area for fly fishing. But it seems there is a lot of streams around here...

So if someone could give an advice to a french who wants to enjoy every single day of fishing in THE country of fly fishing, that would be very nice.

What kind of fishes can I meet there? What would be the stream to visit around Gatlingburg?

I thank you in advance for your help.

Someone I know had his car cleaned out of all his rods and equipment while he was in the river down there. I know that can happen anywhere so I guess its not fair of me to say that. My kids were just at the Bonaroo festival in Tennessee this past week end and said all the people they met were wonderful. It's a beautiful state. You just have to be careful of your stuff no matter where you go in any state.

    Clema,
Pick up a fishing license for Tennessee or North Carolina and head in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park because both licenses are good anywhere within the park. Get a map, pick a blue line and go fish. The streams are loaded with wild browns and rainbows and native brookies. If you are willing to hike a little bit and get away from the roads the fishing gets even better. If you going to fish the streams in Gatlinburg, you will need Tennessee license, trout stamp, and special Gatlinburg stamp as well. I've always fished in the park when I've been down there. It's a blast.

    ok Garrett thanks a lot.

I saw there is so much streams there!!! It's not easy to know where to go...

I'll get informations about where is the hotel exactly, and try to find a stream close from it...

Is there so much trouts everywhere there?

    Clema,
I haven't fished in Gatlinburg itself but have fished in the Park. Most every stream is full of little, wild trout. And if it isn't you are only a short distance away from one that is. I love fishing the Smokies.

Well, I've been invited there. I don't know where it is exactly. Especially because I've never been in USA

so I'll try to get informations about the location.

that's great to ear there are a lot of possibilities... I hope my rod 's gonna warm up!

The Little River in the park is a good start. Good size water but it gets some pressure. stay away from the river through town it ispretty artificial, lots of big stockies swimming around like a fishing tank if i remember correctly.
