I know very little about this so, seeking a little info and advice: Is the fall a good time to fish for landlocks like it also is for other salmon? Being "landlocked", I wasn't sure whether or not they're truly anadromous like other salmon. I've been told they will often run up creeks and rivers from there home lake/reservoir for a bit emulating other salmon species spawning run and that you can catch them sometimes on flashy smelt-like streamers with a fast retrieve.
I've done some research on this. NYS stocks several places for land licks. Because of alewives they don't reproduce but they still go thru the motions. There's some neat places that have a fall Atlantic run just because of this. Check out the NYS DEP site to begin with.
