Here is the "killer" streamer! Make some of these up and give them a go on your next trip...

He uses the rainbow braid with the black one in the book. I thought that the rainbow stuff looked great with the natural squirrel. The fish apparently felt the same![]()

Is pine squirrel a common item? Pattern looks good im going to try it out
I have the BARR FLIES book, but I have never tied the slumpbuster. I think you just inspired me. Great video!!
Standing in moving water circulates the soul and quiets the mind.
Thanks. I think even I can handle that one.
Great looking streamer! Now I'm pissed because I'm going to want to go out towards Denver on my off day and get more tying materials rather than hit the slopes (they're not all that great early season anyways, but w/e).
A couple questions:
Would you consider leading the body to make it heavier and get it lower in the current? Or do you want to fish it towards the top (or just use sinking line to get it down)?
Maybe use a bead with eyes on it to make it more lifelike?

Troutastic,
You can do all of the above. You can add or substitute whatever you would like. I do add lead to some of mine in order to fish them at different depths. If you want to get them even deeper you can fish them on a sinking line as well. I have found that the bead, and sometimes lead under body is all that I need to get the flies down where I need them to be.
