You're asking some tough questions there. Taylor was telling me about sea run cutts the other day. I think that he watched a YouTube video on it. Type in sea run cutthroat trout with your state and see what you get!

yah landlocked atlantics we have here in a little lake not to far theres a name people call them the ghosts of pass lake from what i hear you have kinda troll your fly real deep but in greg thomas's book fly fishing washington or something like that he stated that it takes like 120 hours or something along those lines just to get one very tricky fish

Have been doing this for years in BC. I use a clear intermediate line for the vast majority of my salmon/sea-run fishing. I tend to prefer simple flies -- small marbou streamers. A Rolled Muddler is an old, tried-n-true sea-run pattern, Sculpin patterns can be good too. Leland Miyawaki ties a pattern called the Beach Popper that he swears by for both sea-runs & Salmon. I'm sure you can find the recipe if you google it.

Shoot me a PM and I can try and answer any other questions you might have.

    Good Luck.

Newbie here. I also live in the Puget Sound area. I have good luck on sea-run cuts with small candlefish patterns, egg sucking wooly bugger (purple body/black hackle/ peach egg), dry flies, my funniest pattern to fish are small pan fish poppers!! My biggest cuttie went 22".

For salmon off the beach I use pink/white, char./white candlefish or clouser patterns while varying the retrieve.

    I hope that helps.
