Ningret Worm Hatch Report

Hey all,
Fished the worm hatch at Ningret Pond last night after work. As usual, it doesn't dissapoint. It rivals any dry fly hatch I have ever been a part of! Non stop fish busting action. Worms everywhere, fish going buck wild! Doesn't get any better than that. Even if you don't fish, it is something you need to witness. First time out, first cast in the salt this year landed me a fish just under 29 inches. Got 15 for the evening and most 24-26 inch range. Big, strong, hard fighting fish. All done with a floating worm and great top water action. When you see that wake coming up behind your fly and then SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!! Your on!! OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!! Great action on my 6 wt. My other two buddies landed around 15 or so a piece as well. Last year I had bigger numbers throughout the night but this year the quality of fish is better. Will do it again next week and for the rest of May. I will post a few pics in the GALLERY so check them out. Tight ones y'all...............

i used to fish the worm hatch in the point pleasant canal.... hint hint mikek. you can beat the snot out of the bass there when it happens... it is only 30 min from your job at the hook there. fish the patterns right along the edge of the wall and hang on. the bass will try to rip the rod out of your hands.... good times!!!
btw opie ... i know of places here in nj where you can get really big bass during the cinder worm hatch... by big i am talking 30 pounds!!!! not inches. i used to get them with plastic worms with my grandpa all of the time like that.
