    Davy's Dynamite Worm

    Davy,

Here is a question for you or maybe some one else could help me out. I really am digging this pattern of yours and i was trying to figure out what you use for the worms body. It looks a lot like a San Juan. I would love to know how you tie it if you are willing to share it appears like a simple tie.

The material l use is called pearl core braid. It is available in different sizes.
I may also compliment the fly body with prism SLF.

this material gives off a additional flash, that in the case of the tan colors resembles the iridescent sheen of a natural earth worm.

They can be deadly, particularly for Browns.

    Davy.

I am going to have to pick that stuff up to tie a few up. Do you burn the ends? It looks like it might be hard to burn.

yes, you have to do that.

Either before you tie it in or after. either way, you do it this way, touch the end real gentle with a lighter flame and as soon as you have done it roll the braid in your finger to seal it tight
If you apply too much heat you will burn the over core way too much, you will get the knack of it sooner or later.

Davy: thanks for the pattern and the tying tip. I have the pearl core braid in red and pink. When Aaron and I fished the N. Br. Potomac, I caught a couple smaller rainbows on the pink version.

I found it at a couple of different shops, one on the Farmington and also in PA. Otherwise, I am sure you can mail order it.

Torrey: the package of "Pearl Core Braid Red" says Hareline Dubbin, Inc. It has "PCB310" on it, and the bar code is 7 62820 05856 1

    That's all I know.
