two handed rod education

So ,I went to the shop today and started asking questions ,about two handed rods .
First off there are different lines ,skagit being one ,which is a shooting short head ,which come in differnt grain weights for fighting wind and for getting the head out farther .These are a new design in lines and they are made for sinking tips ! Other spey lines are longer and most people are moving away from those .Im not sure how these lines would work in smaller river conditions ,I do know they make it easier to cast with less fatigue .
The skagit is short which is attached to a shooting line similar to dacron ,which is then attached to your backing .The line weights are determined by size of the pole a 7/8 could use a 7/8 skagit head ,but would be placed on a 10/12 reel ,which would help balance out a fourteen foot rod .To light a reel and the end of the pole will dip down all the time .This will tirer you out .So on say a 4 weight rod you would use a 6 or 8 weight reel . That is what I know for the moment for those interested .
