    High and Dirty

    So I went to the local fly shop to buy some lead wire and beads. And to B.S. about the dismal conditions. I figured rather than drive around and lament the chocolate milk that was flowing through the valley I would hike a bit up gradient.
    I parked in a nice secluded spot and hauled out the "little guns". No big guns needed today. I hiked through some serious thorns and found this.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338677786.592488.jpg

    As I was headded up the water looked better and better (0900). After a quick snack and a shot of coffee I came upon this interesting piece of a fishing puzzle.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338677952.722393.jpg

    A good size fallen tree with heavy overgrowth and no room to work a piece of line unless you were sitting on the tree just right in the middle of the stream
    (awkward fishing position). I figured this was the best and worst of small stream fishing so I had better get busy. Mind you, I'm a sucker for fishing around debris and fallen trees. After two casts I landed this. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338678195.413068.jpg

    I gently landed five more from under this tree. All of the fish took a sz 16 yellow thread body, bead head, with a wrap of sm copper wire and a smidge of light yellow ice dub on the collar. Needless to say when I drove over the bridge in Califon on my way home that chocolate milk never looked so good.
