    Late housy report 6/16/07

took what looks like the last trout fishing float trip of the spring on the housy. we had decent fishing the entire float. close to 20 trout were landed on a mix of dries and nymphs. there are the most alderflies that i have even seen there. there were trout rising for most of the trip. the largest trout was an 18 inch bow. i really hope that we get some rain. its very strange. we had floods in march and april and then no rain for the last two months. i hope ther trout do well this summer.

on the upside the bass fishing will be off the hook with these warm water temps. if you havent... try floating the housy for bass. 100 ++++ fish days are possible. the bass are getting even bigger with 12 inches being the average. there are also some pike in the mix. if you are interested i can start doing weekday floats afer the 28th of june. if you have a kid this is the perfect trip!!! lots of action! it will definately get your kids hooked!

I was up there this weekend with my son and just a beautiful weekend. Saturday was cooler and the water temps were in the mid 60's caught alot of trout. Sunday we floated the river water temps were higher and the bass fishing was awesome! First time I have fished up there since the new contract went through, the natural flow is nice and you don't have to know the "tide times" like in the past. I LOVE THAT RIVER.

i hope that we get the cooler weather that we are supposed to get this week. we are forecasted to cool back down starting wednesday. if this happens we get might get one more good shot of good trout fishing... keep your fingers crossed. soon it will be too warm for the trout and we will switch over to bass and pike. if you happen to see trout in the thermal refuges its time to leave them alone. also if you happen to see people trying to catch the trout there call dep or hro 860 672 1010. if you dont like to catch bass then go fish some of the tailwater fisheries or hit some of the spring creeks in Pennsylvania.
