    went out today without the wieghts and strike indicators. i fished mostly wet flies. i am trying out new things for the competition. let me tell you its rediculous... fishing in these ways does not show who is better. this is not fly fishing. its cartering to a certain peoples way of fishing. in order to see who is the best they should allow any method as long as its considered fly fishing. anyway i will stop my rant. the fishing was good i caught over a dozen trout... without weight and strike indicators i guess its put up or shut up and i am going to get this thing down. if i used my regular technique i could have really murdered them > there were a lot of bugs hatching. i saw a lot of isonychia, sporadic sulfurs and lots of tan caddis, there were also some small bwos and blue quills out as well. all fish were caught on wet flies that imitated the swimming iso nymphs... hint hint

    you should do quite well. the fish were feeding very actively. i am sure that if you stay late enough... after 830 at night you will see some great dry fly action. sulphers will be the ticket in a size 14. also have some yellow spinners in the same size. fish them on 5x with a 9-12 foot leader and you should hammer.... just make some drage free floats and they will be all over it. also look at areas where the current is moving. you will be surprised... most of the fish that i caught were not in flat water.
