The Sacandaga river is stocked with brown trout and has native brook trout. There is alot of public accsess right along route 30. The Mohawk and the Hudson are good bass fisheries. I also think the upper part of the Hudson is a decent trout fishery but you need to check for water releases as they release water for white water rafting at certain times. Sacandaga lake is loaded with fish including some VERY large pike (former world record) there is tons of public accsess for shore fishing. Pretty much if your in the Adirondack park there is tons of public accsess and tons of lakes, ponds and streams everywhere. I've been fishing in the Adirondacks since I was a little kid and every piece of water is good to fish for something. You can also count on almost every little creek having native brookies in it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
