Hey guys and gals,
Had a guide trip yesterday. Water was up. I forgot to call for flow report but I heard around 2900. Water is up. My guy managed to hook a nice rainbow, 1 small brown, and 2 small mouths. Both trout took golden stone fly nymph and hendrickson nymph. Streamers on the smallies. Water temp was around 52 degrees in the late am. Around 12:30pm or so I picked up a rock and found 6-8 hendrickson nymphs so it appears that there are a lot ready to pop any time soon. Nymphs were around a size 14. Some hendricksons hatching but not many. Also saw a few BWO. Once the flow goes down some more and the water clarity gets a little better, river should catch FIRE ;D

Like Opie said, the fish are starting to turn on. Floated two great guys yesterday and we boated between 2 dozen to 30 smallies, and 2 trout in the 15 inch class. The smallies were all nice with the smallest in the 12 inch mark to several in the 15-17 inch range in the 2 lb+ range. It should only be a matter of time before the fish get really active. All fish were taken on streamers.

I fished the river today (4/29) with our new member, BLACKGHOST1. Our findings echo the two postings above. We caught about a dozen bass between us in 2 hours, and one 12in trout. There were two unusual (but not really notable) events:

I accidentally snagged a big sucker with a conehead hellgrammite:


and met up with a very aggressive crayfish that actually attacked my fly and held on for a long-time:


The bass are really aggressive to the streamers. Water clarity seems to be improving slightly.
