    Housy Sept. '08 report- better late than never...

    Took me a while to get this one up, but here it is finally. Got my 2 best Housy browns of '08 this September, and both the same night on Iso dries. Only photographed the bigger one, I measured it 3x but couldn't stretch it quite to 20"- it was an honest 19 3/4", dang it! :P It was a good fight, but the 18 1/2 incher I got right before it was the fight of the night, pulling & jumping like a rainbow in the dark. I was surprised when I snapped my flashlight on and saw it was a brown. Both fish were in great shape. Wasn't even going to fish that evening, jumped in minutes before dark, ending up with 5 landed, also included a 17 1/2" rainbow. The best dry fly fishing of the year on the Housy was definitely in the evenings in August & September.

    Another fine fish from the Nymphmeister! Isn't it amazing how much darker and more gold the browns on the Hous have become since then? What a beauty.

    Yeah, they are colored up nicely. The picture, of course, doesn't fully do the trout justice, it was absolutely beautiful & perfect in hand. The camera flash always seems to wash some of the color away. And the fish was very thick from side to side, pictures never show that. There were other bigger trout rising near it in the dark, this just happened to be the biggest one I was able to dupe.
