Great weekend with "wet fly ways"

First off I realize I was fishing over freshly stocked fish.

I started out the weekend on the Housie with an indicator and wasn't having much luck. I decided at that point that I would give the wet flies & techniques that I learned from Davy wotton a try. From that time on it was game on I ended up having a 30+ fish day. At one point I went to a place on the river ware a couple of spin guy were. in a matter of about 20 minutes I managed to hook about 12 browns. One of the spin guys came over and asked me what the secret was so I showed him the rig I was using and told him that the secret for today atleast was Davy Wottons wet fly ways. I think this guy was now thinking about getting a fly rod.

Sunday morning I decided to give the wet flies a try on the farmington. I went there with a friend that was nymph fishing who also took Davys corse. After an hour or so when he was still trying for his first fish and I was already on my 4th he decided to switch over to wets. After that he ended up going 1 for 4 and I ended up 9 for 12.
All the fish hooked on thr Housie were freshly stocked browns. 4 of the fish hooked on the farmington were freshle stocked and the others were holdovers. nothing real big most were in the 15-16 inch range. I even had two doubles on the housie witch was a first for me

I know these dont seem like big fish numbers compaired to what some of the guys on this list do but it was a fatastic weekend for me and I now truly believe in "WET FLY WAYS"

Dave, that's awesome, and I'm glad to hear you picked up a bunch of holdovers on the Farmington. What was the best fly over there? Does it begin with an "A", or was it something drabber & more natural looking?

As all the rivers come down again, the temps rise and the hatches get cranking, I think the wets will really get deadly.

The flies that worked best for me were the peter ross or alexandra on point and woodcock & hairs ear on the droppers
