fish on ,I caught a 100 pound sturgon on 20lb test!
That's a paddlefish, right? How big do they get? Are they similar to sturgeon in that they grow to be very old?
Nice photo - I think I would be afraid to handle that beast.

Your thinking gars...
as far as size..
This one probably would have been in the 55-65lb range.

I would be scared to walk in there at night![]()
They're filter feeders.... They strain plankton out of the water with their gill rakes. Paddlefish are ancient, prehistoric fish like sturgeon, and like sturgeon grow to be very old. I think they're protected in the Mississippi because all the runoff and crap in the river has screwed up the natural plankton blooms for them. Pretty crazy that a river is big enough to support enough plankton to evolve filter feeders like in the ocean. Think whale shark or basking shark. Same sort of deal.
yah id run from a fish like that lol great picture.
Get a hook..... secure it in the vise and pinch down the barb. Now cover it with invisibility spray so you can no longer see it. Dub very loosely with faint green microscopic particles. Secure with a whip finish of invisible thread.
Or, you can try Larry Tullis' pattern:
