I fished a small stretch of Bushkill Creek behind the Easton City Service garage. I arrived on stream around noon. There were a couple spin fishermen there throwing roostertails with little success. I waited them out and after they left I took a position at the end of the large corner pool where the current starts to increase. The water itself was running seasonably high but very clear. On my first cast I hooked a small wild brown that was still par marked. Over the next hour and a half I pulled a brook, 2 rainbows, and 2 browns, all stockies and all in the 10-11 inch range. The was fish of the day was exceptional. I managed to hook a gnarly toothy mouthed 18 inch wild brown that took about 5 minutes to net. A great ending to a great afternoon on the creek.

All the fish were caught on the same rig, a short line nymphing set up with a pineapple express dropper (14) and a latex larva (10) anchor.

A word of warning about the Bushkill. A recent report in the Express-Times reported a high concentration of coliform bacteria in several spots along the creek including the 3rd street dam, the dam at the crayon factory, and at Penn Pump park. If you plan fishing here I'd recommend keeping your fingers out of your mouth and it may be wise to carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you.
