Prior to my trip yesterday I witnessed the DEP collecting data by electroshocking trout out of the Housy. I was actually surprised by the number of trout that they had from only one area. They "shocked" Push Em Up and collected nearly 50 trout according to the biologist. The disappointment that they only found one (1) fish that could be considered a holdover fish in the entire area. I hope that the other fish in the area migrated or simply eluded the electrical currents. The other group said that they had "tons" of Smallmouth bass. With all this being said I would say that 50 trout in one area with no real noticable thremal refuge makes the Fall trout fishing on the Housatonic look extremely promising. All of the trout that I saw looked very healthy. I wish I could have seen what they were going to find in "other" areas

Here are a few pics.
