Headed out to the Catskills with Chris and Jordan at 4:30 in the morning yesterday. I love being first to the river. When we got to the river there were a ton of fish rising but I'm not sure to what and it was short lived anyway. We got right to nymphing and started catching fish right away. The fishing was oustanding until about 11:30 then it slowed down a bit. After a fishless 1/2 hour we decided we should start hitting the shady spots and the water with the really broken surface, thinking that they were keeping out of the sun. As soon as we started doing that we were right back into them. It was a great day of catching tons of wild fish and followed up by some General Tso's chicken. What more could you want.

Awsome native brookie. About 12-13 inches. I tried to get a picture holding him for some scale but for whatever reason trying to hold a big brookie for a picture seems to be impossible.

The average fish

Close-up. I love how these pictures look when the fish hold still long enough.

My best fish of the day, about 15-16 inches.
