I took the whole family to the Pequannock late today. we only had about a 1/2 hour of daylight. I rigged up my 10ft 4wt with a short line leader and a heavy stonefly anchor with a PT dropper. I then handed things over to my wife and let her have at it while I kept the kiddies happy. She had only done this one other time but she was looking like a pro. She hooked into three fish and landed one, a nice stocker rainbow. This was her first trout that was bigger than the palm of her hand. For anyone looking to get someone into fly fishing I don't think you can beat short line euro nymphing. Its very quick and easy to show someone how to do and you can usually feel the takes so they're catching fish right away and lets face it, its easier to show somebody how to do something if they've been having some success.
