Given some concern over the recent fishability of the Farmington, figured I'd share the results of a enjoyable Monday afternoon in the TMA. After the previous few days, the weather was downright balmy, so with a surprisingly free afternoon I headed out and fished for a little over two hours. Had the entire stretch to myself, so I was able to hit about four or five good pools in short order. About ten minutes into the fishing I connected with the below beauty and received a surprising fight - you can see the stonefly in its upper lip. Subsequently, landed one more smaller brown and a few more hookups and flubbed takes. They seemed to be hitting the egg from the HRO 1/10 session, so perhaps the gentle takes combined with the small hook size and my talents conspired in the trout's favor. Temps were surprisingly varied, from 32 to 36 depending on the area.
It was an awesome and unexpected treat.
